I really love this view as you arrive at Coniston Hall Campsite, and there is normally obliging sheep around to make the photo even more atmospheric! I have always been quite intrigued by the chimney stacks of Coniston Hall when you add to that the backdrop of Brantwood on the far bank of Coniston Water, you have a great location for a campsite. There are also some wonderful pubs one of my favourites is The Black Bull, which brews Old Man Ale and Bluebird Bitter. It has a family butcher selling Cumberland Sausages, cafe serving delicious take-away pies, and fresh bread which makes self-catering so much easier. The village of Coniston is charming and practically unspoilt by tourism.
